You must have a web design to create a new website. Then you might be asking yourself: What is web design?
Most people will probably associate web design with the visuals that you encounter when you visit a website. That's true, but good web design is much more than meets the eye. It's about how to use shapes, images, text and colors.
Then we come to another question: What is a good design?
There is no final word here, but we would like to tell you a little about how we think and what we think is important when designing a website.
Simple is often the best and less is more!
Lots of elements and effects can ruin the user experience. Avoid disturbing elements that flash and flicker. Here we would rather suggest a stylish design with few elements and a small selection of colors that are repeated on the page. Use colors that are in style with each other.
We would recommend not using more than three different fonts on the website. And feel free to stick to the font families. * See tips further down the page.
DO NOT use large image files unless you want a slow website. Unfortunately, too many people make this mistake. Remember to upload the images in PNG, or JPG format. Use graphics and images that suit the content.
Feel free to use whitespace (extra, empty parts of the website). It makes the design appear neat and aesthetic. Your site will then appear more professional.
Have a common thread throughout your website
When creating web design, it is important to make sure that the subpages keep the same style as the rest of the page. Keep the thread when it comes to both communication and design. Reuse the same font, colors and graphic elements across the different subpages.
You may have the most beautiful website in the world, but if customers do not find the information they are looking for, or if they get confused when they encounter obstacles in the buying process, then the website will not convert.
Create a logical and user-friendly layout, with buttons and categories that can be pressed. It should be as easy as possible for users to go from general content to more specific content on the site.
The importance of good photos
Any web design expert will be able to tell you that the use of images on your website creates more engaged readers.
What many do not tell you is that non-optimized images will dramatically reduce the speed of your website, lower search engine rankings and reduce customer or reader satisfaction.
When uploading images, it is important to consider resolution, image format and compression. If you choose the right combination, you get great, high-quality images that are also quick to load for the reader.
A fast and responsive website
A website should be fast. Having a short loading speed is very important. If it takes more than 3-4 seconds to load a web page, many visitors end up leaving the page. The ripple effects of this are customer flight and loss of potential revenue. Here we return to the image files. These must be optimal and not too large. It is also important that unnecessary codes and plug-ins that are not in use are removed. These make your page slow, and you do not want that.
In addition, your page must be responsive. It must be optimized for all devices: mobile, tablet, laptop and larger PC screens. The page must also be adapted to the various browsers.
None of those who come to your website have the time or energy to read a dissertation about your products or services. Write concisely and concretely.
When people visit your website, make sure they understand who you are, what you do, and what benefits they get if they choose to become a customer of yours. Use objective language. Drop the advertising jargon and a boastful way of writing.
There is, as written, no conclusion. These are our recommendations and we will finally point out the importance of having a good website. If you run a business, your website is your business card and external face. People rate your brand based on what they see online.
Even if you are not a web designer, you should be part of the process that leads to how the website looks. You may want to look at competitors' websites to find out what you like and do not like.
TIPS! Fonts and fonts.
The main purpose of a font is simply to be read. And it should also be very easy to read. It is not the case that one should struggle through the text due to. the shape of the letters. It should be easy, and it should go by itself.
We would recommend not using more than three different fonts on the website. And feel free to stick to the font families. Preferably font size 16 and up. It is not at all stupid to use the standard fountain; Arial and Verdana.
All the fonts above are the same font size. The bottom two are Arial and Verdana.
